Two useful counter-fraud tips from colleagues

15 May 2018      Matt Sisson, Projects and Membership Manager

There are some useful counter-fraud tips from members on the discussion boards this week. Firstly, if you’ve had attempts at supplier frauds at your institution, you might want to take a leaf out of the Queen Mary’s book (or website?) and put a ‘Supplier Fraud Alert’ information document on the front page of your university website. Secondly, thanks to Mark Reed from Kent for a step-by-step guide of how to make use of www.whois.com to get fraudulent university domains (e.g. www.university-ac.uk) closed down promptly.
