19 July 2019      Ashley Shelbrooke, HEPA and Project Specialist

Crown Commercial Service yesterday released its annual report and accounts for 2018 to 2019.  The headline figures show that £15.7bn was spent through CCS frameworks, generating £945m of commercial benefits for users.  These commercial benefits are split between £621m in central government and £324m in the ‘wider public sector’.

Some interesting case studies are included in the report, such as the University of Central Lancashire’s £25k saving on its water bill through participating in an aggregated procurement.

The report also details CCS efforts in sustainable procurement such as access to low carbon technologies through the Heat Networks and Electricity Generation Assets dynamic purchasing system and the energy efficiency benefits of the Crown Hosting framework.
