08 September 2020 Ashley Shelbrooke, HEPA and Project Specialist
Following a summer holiday last month, welcome to the September edition of the HEPA Digest!
You may have read about the recent court ruling covering Visa and Mastercard transaction fees. Bank Brokers are working with organisations across multiple sectors on a ‘no-win, no-fee’ lawsuit with the aim of securing refunds for those eligible, including universities. They ran a webinar last week, the recording of which you can view here.
This might be an opportunity worth investigating at your institution as there is the potential to secure a refund covering several years of transactions. I also believe that the amount of work required on the part of the institution is relatively small. There is a thread on the discussion board here, and it would be wise to consult with your legal teams before expressing an interest, but if you would like any further information then please do not hesitate to get in touch with myself or Neil Filbrook, CEO, Bank Brokers.
We are running a training session on Tuesday 20 October covering customs ahead of Brexit. A full outline of the session is on the BUFDG website here. The day is split into two, with the morning session covering basics and the afternoon session providing a more in-depth deep dive into the current issues. This really will be an invaluable session for anybody who deals with any of the topics highlighted in the training overview. Places are limited, and we will run another session on 21 October when this one fills up: book your places here.
