What exactly does procurement do?

If you're a procurement professional you'll know the range of skills and qualities you need in your role - strategy, negotiation, tact, sales techniques, cost avoidance, risk management, customer service - the list goes on. CIPS Australia put together an amazing diagram in 2012 highlighting the complexity of the role and listing all those areas managed, led or touched by the procurement function.
