Cross sector work in the run up to Brexit

01 September 2019      Ashley Shelbrooke, HEPA and Project Specialist

HEPA is working with colleagues across the sector as the UK prepares to leave the EU on 31 October 2019.  There will be several implications for procurement teams over the coming months as a result of Brexit, especially if the UK leaves the EU on a no deal basis.

Now is a good time to revisit your Brexit preparedness plans for your institution.  There are a number of resources available to help with this task, such as the CIPS Brexit Health Check Brief and Cabinet Office Guidance for public sector procurement after a no deal Brexit.

The Consortia are also working collaboratively to evaluate the risks involved to members via framework contracts, and this analysis is summarised in the UKUPC spreadsheet.  An updated summary spreadsheet was published on 12th September 2019.

We will continue to monitor the situation and are attending the Universities UK no deal planning meeting later this month; relevant updates will be shared as soon as they are available via the HEPA News and Twitter channels.  In the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Ashley should you have any questions.
