Modern slavery in supply chains – new measures

13 October 2020      Ashley Shelbrooke, HEPA and Project Specialist

The Government is introducing new measures to strengthen the Modern Slavery Act 2015 as a result of the response to the transparency in supply chains consultation.

Public bodies who have a budget of £36 million and above will be required to report on the steps they have taken to prevent modern slavery in supply chains.  In addition to this, the government has mandated the key topics that modern slavery statements must cover and will launch a digital reporting service early next year.
