Free HEPA Resources
Found under the resources tab on the Hepa website are the Procurement Journey and the Competency Toolkit – two free to use resources to help those in procurement roles at all levels.
The Procurement Journey
Confused about an aspect of the procurement cycle? Need a standard document? Want to know what to consider when writing a specification? The Procurement Journey is an excellent resource, available on the newly designed Hepa site. The Journey is intended to support all levels of procurement activities and to manage the expectations of stakeholders, customers and suppliers alike. The tool starts by helping you decide which procurement process you should follow by answering a number of score based questions; it then guides you through the appropriate procedure providing documents and links relevant to your requirements.
The Competency Toolkit
The Toolkit is designed to help you improve expertise and efficiency in your department by tracking the competencies of you and your staff; it can also help you develop a job description for a procurement post matched to similar roles in the sector.
The toolkit consists of three elements:
The Basic competency toolkit which enables you to develop a personal job profile highlighting your competencies and also detailing areas which may need strengthening.
The Job Description Competency definition maps skills against roles and enables you to introduce competency framework job descriptions and development programmes
The sample institutional job descriptions provide examples of how the outputs of the competency toolkit can be utilised. Each example can be downloaded as a word document.
