Deadline for JRS backdated claims is 31 July

27 July 2020      Julia Ascott, Employment Taxes Specialist

A quick reminder that the deadline to submit back dated claims under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme is 31 July. All claims for the periods ending on/before 30 June 2020 MUST BE SUBMIT BY 31 JULY.  Many employers had been waiting to submit a claim for JRS claims whilst waiting for further information or checking calculations.  If these claims are not submit by 31 July, you will not be able to receive a grant for periods from March to June.

If you have not made any claims prior to 31 July, you will not be able to use the JRS scheme going forward.

From 1 August, NIC and pensions costs for furloughed employees will not be included in the JRS grant - employers will have to meet these costs.
